What is IPL?

It is a safe depilation method that uses light as a principle to transmit heat to the hair root to remove the hair follicle.

What are the benefits of IPL hair removal?

Light-based hair removal is currently the least painful way to remove hair. It is more comfortable and less expensive in the long term than other methods tend to be. It also has a number of added benefits, such as removing blemishes or ingrown hairs caused by frequent waxing. To a considerable extent this system reduces the problems inherent to folliculitis (inflammation of one or more hair follicles) and does not cause damage to the skin, as waxing does. When used for hair removal, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) technology offers a non-aggressive hair removal treatment as well as long lasting results. As opposed to fixed laser waves, the IPL Method makes it possible to choose the treatment range and therefore allows:
--Adaptable wave lengths to suit each patient's skin,  hair color and hair depth.
--Efficient treatment of most hair colors and all hair textures, from thin to thick.

What are the differences between laser and IPL?

Both are light-based hair removal systems (selective photothermolysis), but IPL is a more modern technique than laser. IPL can effectively treat a wider spectrum of skin and hair types than laser -including very fair hair or very dark skin- with long-lasting results. It is safe and less painful than laser.

Do I need to shave before starting a session?

For successful hair removal with our IPL equipment, hair needs to be 1 to 3 millimeters long, to allow for the emitted light to be absorbed by the hair melanin, conducting the light to the follicle.

Can all body areas be treated?

Almost all body areas can be treated with IPL. The only exception is any area where the light might reach your eyes directly, such as your brow.

How long does each session last?

This will depend on the area to be treated. For instance, legs can take up to one hour, whereas armpits can take as little as 10 minutes and upper lip; just a few seconds.

Are there any contraindications?

Before beginning the treatment, we will ask you a number of questions to find out any possible contraindications, which may include: diabetes, epilepsy, taking photosensitive drugs, pregnancy, breastfeeding, tattoos and recently tanned skin.

Does the treatment have any side effects?

On rare occasions, erythema and warmness may appear in the treated area, but these effects will disappear within a few hours. We highly recommend applying the No+Vello cream as its soothing, regenerating and hydrating effects are necessary for successful skin preparation. In addition, it is essential for preventing any damage that may occur due to dehydration caused by IPL hair removal or rejuvenation.

Is it Safe?

IPL hair removal treatments are safe for the skin as it only works on the hair melanin, thus the skin remains untouched. Because it only penetrates a few millimeters deep, it is incapable of causing any damage to other skin structures.

Is it Painful?

Our system has an intense sub-zero cooling system which causes a local anesthetic effect, so that the heat sensation is almost non-existent.

Why is No+Vello so much cheaper than other IPL companies?

The No+Vello concept is based, among other things, on specialization. Before launching No+Vello into the market, available IPL hair removal was offered as an additional service at aesthetic centers, hairdresser shops, clinics, etc. Upon being able to specialize in our pulsed light system, we can offer a safe service having the most optimal quality and at the best market price. The key to our model success lies on service democratization, making it accessible to everyone.
